On January 11, 2024, the Walailak Cultural and Sports Promotion Center, organized a cultural event to revive the tradition of fire offering ceremony and give alms to the monks to welcome the New Year. The event took place at the Dhamma Square of Walailak University, with the aim of promoting awareness of the rich cultural traditions of Buddhism.
The ceremony was led by Phra Khru Pipatthammanusak (Phra Pipat Morasin), the abbot of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, who served as the monk representative and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Urai Jitraporn, Vice President of Walailak University. There were 29 monks and more than 600 participants joined this event. The participants contributed a total of 21,934 Baht for the maintenance of arts, culture, and religion.
The Division of General Affairs and Correspondence made sugar dumplings with coconut dessert to join in the merit-making this time.
