On April 6, 2026, Walailak University<\/span><\/span>, led by Associate Professor Dr. Mallika Charoensuthasinee<\/span><\/span>, together with university staff, participated in a royal tribute ceremony by presenting offerings before the royal portrait of King Phutthayotfa Chulalok<\/span><\/span> and delivering a royal tribute speech in commemoration of Chakri Memorial Day<\/span><\/span> 2026.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was presided over by Somchai Leelanoi<\/span><\/span>, who led heads of government agencies, civil servants, representatives from the judiciary, military, and police, as well as members of the public, to attend the event at the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization Theater<\/span><\/span>. The ceremony was held to express gratitude and reverence for the great benevolence of King Phutthayotfa Chulalok<\/span><\/span>, the founding monarch of the Chakri Dynasty<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, participants presented ceremonial floral offerings, delivered royal tribute remarks, and observed a moment of respect in remembrance of the immeasurable contributions of King Rama I. His Majesty established Rattanakosin<\/span><\/span> as the capital of the kingdom and laid the foundation for the nation\u2019s stability in governance, religion, arts, and culture. His reign brought peace and prosperity to the Thai people, and his legacy continues through the monarchs of the Chakri Dynasty to the present day.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, the administrators and personnel of Walailak University expressed their loyalty and gratitude for the benevolence of all Thai monarchs of the Chakri Dynasty, who have devoted themselves to the well-being and prosperity of the Thai people throughout the nation\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

Chakri Memorial Day<\/span><\/span> is observed annually on April 6 to commemorate King Phutthayotfa Chulalok<\/span><\/span> and all monarchs of the Chakri Dynasty. The day marks the anniversary of King Rama I\u2019s coronation in 1782 and the establishment of Bangkok<\/span><\/span> as the capital of Thailand, which remains the country\u2019s political, economic, and cultural center to this day.<\/p>\n
