The event was attended by university executives, faculty members, students, and more than 500 local residents from surrounding communities. It took place at the Architecture and Design Laboratory Building, Walailak University.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-15796 gallery-columns-2 gallery-size-large'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon portrait'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/dcg.wu.ac.th\/?attachment_id=15798'><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1108\" height=\"1477\" src=\"https:\/\/dcg.wu.ac.th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/S__73162795_0-1.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"Walailak Songkran\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon portrait'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='https:\/\/dcg.wu.ac.th\/?attachment_id=15799'><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1108\" height=\"1477\" src=\"https:\/\/dcg.wu.ac.th\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/S__73162793_0-1.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large\" alt=\"Walailak Songkran\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p data-start=\"603\" data-end=\"1022\">The atmosphere was filled with warmth and joy, reflecting the spirit of the traditional Thai Songkran festival. A highlight of the event was the water-pouring ceremony to pay respect and seek blessings from elders of the Walailak University Demonstration Community. This community has played a vital role in supporting and contributing to the establishment and continuous growth of the university since its early years.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1245\">The ceremony provided an opportunity for students and staff to express gratitude, respect, and seek forgiveness while receiving blessings for prosperity\u2014reflecting the core Thai values of gratitude and respect for elders.\u00a0In addition to traditional rituals, the event featured a variety of engaging activities promoting collaboration between the university and the community. Participants enjoyed traditional long-drum dancing (Ram Wong Klong Yao), where university staff and elders danced together joyfully, showcasing strong intergenerational relationships.There were also cultural performances by Walailak University students, highlighting Thai identity and heritage, as well as performances by children from the Walailak Demonstration Community Child Development Center, which brought smiles and applause from attendees.\u00a0Food and beverage booths hosted by various university departments offered a wide range of dishes, creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere significant occasion that emphasizes gratitude, respect for elders, and harmonious living in society. It also served as a platform to strengthen relationships between the university and surrounding communities through inclusive and participatory activities.\u00a0Furthermore, this initiative supports the university\u2019s mission to preserve and promote arts and cultural heritage. The participation of students, staff, and community members not only fostered happiness and unity but also instilled awareness of the importance of maintaining Thai cultural identity for future generations.\u00a0Additionally, staff from the Administration and Documentation Division were responsible for welcoming and registering participants at the event.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-3'
