Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, along with the executives, traveled to study and visit universities and agencies in Chiang Mai and Phayao provinces during 29 August – 2 September 2024, including Chiang Mai University, University of Phayao, Maejo University, Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden, and the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (Public Organization).
August 29, 2024, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, led the executive team to study at Chiang Mai University (CMU). We were honored by Professor Dr. Phongrak Sribanditmongkol, President of Chiang Mai University, along with executives and staff who welcomed us at the Buarat Khamthong Meeting Room, University Office 2, Chiang Mai University. The main objective of this study visit is to study the approach and exchange knowledge about the Smart City (CMU Smart City), which CMU has developed technology and innovation to support the smart city in a tangible way. It is the only university in Thailand that has been authorized to use the Smart City Thailand logo, with up to 40 Smart City areas under its care.
Zero Waste Management In this regard, CMU has taken serious action in many dimensions, starting from waste separation, efficient waste management that can reduce waste by up to 96 percent, using plastic waste as a practical road material, establishing a comprehensive biomass management center, and interesting greenhouse gas and energy management. A good model for Walailak University
CMU has presented the operational guidelines of Angkaew Holding Company Limited, which is the result of promoting and supporting various departments to use the university’s work, focusing on integrating academic knowledge and research, as well as using innovation for efficient operations. Angkaew Holding Company currently has 18 subsidiaries.
30 สิงหาคม 2567 ศึกษาดูงาน ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้และเยี่ยมชมการดำเนินงานของโรงพยาบาลมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยาและโรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา โดยมีรองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ดิเรก ธีระภูธร รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายสื่อสารองค์กร ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ชลธิดา เทพหินลัพ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิชาการ ศาสตราจารย์ นพ.สุกิจ พันธุ์พิมานมาศ คณบดีคณะแพทยศาสตร์ นายแพทย์กฤติน นาราเวชสกุล ผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาลมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา และรองศาสตราจารย์ปรียานันท์ แสนโภชน์ ผู้อํานวยการโรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหารและเจ้าหน้าที่ ให้การต้อนรับคณะจากมหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์อย่างดียิ่ง
มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา มีหลักสูตรการเรียนการสอน 120 หลักสูตร และมีจำนวนนักศึกษา 22,538 คน ซึ่งมากกว่าจำนวนนักศึกษาของมหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์ ที่สำคัญคือ มีโรงพยาบาลมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา ซึ่งเป็นโรงพยาบาลที่ขึ้นตรงต่อคณะแพทยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา ปัจจุบันเปิดให้บริการอยู่ที่ 60 เตียง และมีแผนจะขยายเป็น 120 เตียง ในปี 2568 ที่น่าสนใจคือ ภายใต้วิสัยทัศน์ “มหาวิทยาลัยสร้างปัญญา เพื่อนวัตกรรมชุมชน สู่สากล อย่างยั่งยืน” บุคลากรมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา ได้มีการลงพื้นที่เพื่อทำงานกับชุมชนอย่างเข้มแข็งและเป็นหนึ่งในนโยบายของมหาวิทยาลัย ที่มุ่งเน้นให้อาจารย์และบุคลากร ลงชุมชนไปสร้างงานวิจัยและนวัตกรรม ก่อเกิดเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์มากมาย ซึ่งมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยามีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อการพัฒนาชุมชนและสังคมรายรอบ
มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา ได้จัดตั้งโรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยาและมีผลสำเร็จในการดำเนินงานที่น่าสนใจ โดยเปิดรับนักเรียนระดับประถมศึกษา มัธยมศึกษาตอนต้น และมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลาย ปัจจุบันมีนักเรียน จำนวน 784 คน ซึ่งมีทั้งบุตรของบุคลากรและเด็กนักเรียนจากภายนอก การเดินทางไปศึกษาดูงาน ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ และได้เยี่ยมชมโรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา จึงเป็นการถอดบทเรียนที่ดีสำหรับมหาวิทยาลัยวลัยลักษณ์ ซึ่งมีแผนก่อตั้งโรงเรียนสาธิตเช่นเดียวกัน
August 31, 2024, traveled to Maejo University, Chiang Mai Province to study agricultural innovation and visit the hemp research and development project. On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Wiraphol Thongma, President of Maejo University, along with executives and staff, honored us at the Rueng Phueng Room, University Office, Maejo University. On this occasion, we discussed the current teaching situation in the agricultural field, which both Maejo University and Walailak University are experiencing a problem of low applicants, especially in the southern region.
Associate Professor Dr. Apinan Suwannathap, Director of the Agricultural Research and Promotion Office, and Assistant Professor Dr. Naphat Ruangnaphakul presented the operations of the Maejo Agricultural and Food Innovation District, covering an area of 5.61 square kilometers (3,506.25 rai), which is an area for creating learning, knowledge, and creativity. Currently, Maejo University has opened Magro Holding Company Limited and has successfully exported startups that are only 5 months old since the opening of the holding company to receive funding to support business operations abroad.
Then, we visited the hemp research and development project of Maejo University. The project has grown and produced hemp flowers to extract CBD and transform them into various products, including anti-inflammatory hemp toothpaste, hemp massage oil, hemp balm and spray, and many other products, both those that can be used for real and those that are currently in the experimental stage.
In the afternoon of the same day, the study group from Walailak University traveled to the National Astronomical Research Institute (Public Organization) or NARIT. On this occasion, Dr. Saran Poshyachinda, Director of the National Astronomical Research Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Wiphu Rujopakarn, Deputy Director of the National Astronomical Research Institute, and the group welcomed them and watched a full dome movie screening at the planetarium. They also visited advanced astronomical technology within the area of the Huai Hong Khrai Royal Development Study Center, including the National Radio Astronomical Observatory, which has installed a 40-meter and 13-meter radio telescope under the Radio Astronomy and Geodesy Network Development Project, in which Walailak University has signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation on the Vigos radio telescope in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province with the National Astronomical Research Institute. (Public Organization) The construction of the base building and installation of the telescope will be completed by 2025 to jointly research and develop radio astronomy knowledge and skills.
