Walailak University is on the rise! World rankings continue to increase, hoping to be ranked 1001+ in the world next year. Successfully entered the 2025 World University Rankings, able to continuously increase its score for the 3rd year, ranking 6th in Thailand, 1201+ in the world, while the average score is only 1 point lower than 1001+, expected to be ranked 1001+ in the world next year.

On October 9, 2024, the famous world university ranking institution, Times Higher Education, announced the results of the World University Rankings 2025 via the website https://www.timeshighereducation.com. The results showed that Walailak University was ranked 1201+ in the world out of more than 26,000 universities worldwide and 6th in the country. In particular, the score for research quality has changed dramatically from last year, from 35.5 to 51.7 points, ranking 5th out of 20 Thai universities that passed the conditions and were ranked.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, said that he would like to thank the executives, lecturers, and staff of Walailak University for their hard work. Overall, the university has higher scores in various dimensions, especially in research. Currently, the university has the highest percentage of research publications in Scopus Q1 and Q2 journals in the country, reflecting a significant development in terms of research quality.

Importantly, the UKPSF international professional standard from England is currently being used for teaching and learning to provide students with skills in analytical and synthetic thinking. There are also more than 700 certified professional lecturers, the most in Thailand. This is an important factor that has led to the university climbing to 6th place in Thailand.

“By 2027, we aim to be ranked in the TOP 5 of the country and 1001-1200 of the world. This will make students and parents confident in our quality and potential and more interested in applying to study at Walailak University,” said Professor Dr. Sombat.
