Walailak University Celebrates 33rd Anniversary, Prepares to Host International Conference WRC 2025

Walailak University is preparing to host the international academic conference WRC 2025 and Walailak Investor Day 2025 in a hybrid format, celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the university’s establishment. The event will feature keynote speakers from world-renowned universities, with academics from over 20 countries confirming their participation.

Walailak University, through the Institute of Research and Innovation for Excellence, is organizing the 4th Walailak Research Convention 2025 and Walailak Investor Day 2025 to commemorate the university’s 33rd anniversary. The conference, themed “The Roles of Higher Education in Driving Sustainability and Blue Carbon,” will serve as a public platform for presenting academic work, exchanging knowledge and experiences, developing research and innovation, and promoting the utilization of research and innovation outputs. It aims to build national and international research networks. The event is scheduled to take place on March 27-28, 2025, at Walailak University.

This international conference is jointly organized by the Institute of Research and Innovation for Excellence and various centers of excellence within the university. It will be held both on-site and online, accommodating over 1,000 participants. The highlight of the conference will be special lectures by keynote speakers and experts from prestigious universities worldwide, with researchers and academics from over 20 countries already registered.

The opening ceremony will be graced by Dr. Surachai Sathitkunarat, Director of the Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO), who will preside over the ceremony and deliver a special lecture on “The Role of Higher Education in Sustainability & Blue Carbon.” A special panel discussion on “Higher Education and Global Sustainability” will feature panelists including Professor Dr. Yew Johnsson Alengaram from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Professor Dr. Vikas Kumar from Birmingham City University, United Kingdom; Professor Dr. Ikuo Hirono from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Japan; and Associate Professor Dr. Mallika Charoensutasinee from Walailak University, Thailand.

Additionally, various research centers will host academic conferences, seminars, and workshops on numerous topics, inviting experts from countries such as Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the United States, New Zealand, Finland, Poland, Russia, and Palestine to exchange knowledge.
