Walailak University Participated in the Royal Tribute Ceremony on the Commemoration Day of the Passing of King Naresuan the Great

On April 25, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Sarawut Palipoch, Vice President of Walailak University, along with university personnel, participated in the royal tribute ceremony on the Commemoration Day of the Passing of King Naresuan the Great for the year 2025. The ceremony was held at the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization Theater, presided over by Mr. Somchai Leelanuch, the Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Heads of government agencies, civil servants, judges, prosecutors, military personnel, police, state enterprise employees, and mass organizations also attended the ceremony.

On this occasion, the president of the ceremony laid a wreath and delivered a royal eulogy in front of the portrait of King Naresuan the Great to honor and commemorate the great kindness of King Naresuan the Great, who possessed exceptional abilities, courage, and decisiveness in driving out enemy invaders throughout his life to establish the independence of the Thai nation. His heroic deeds are renowned and recorded in history to this day.

During his reign, he waged wars to expand the Thai kingdom in all four directions. He was a great and courageous warrior king who restored Thailand’s independence after the fall of Ayutthaya, helped salvage the nation’s sovereignty, upheld Thai identity, and protected the land from enemy threats for the freedom of the Thai people. He ascended the throne on July 29, 1590, and reigned for a total of 15 years. He passed away on April 25, 1605, at the age of 50.
