Walailak University Opens Doors to Hua Sai Vocational College Students for Digital Technology Immersion

Walailak University, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand – On June 20, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Fareeda Jae-aoh, Assistant to the President of Walailak University, extended a warm welcome to over 85 teachers and students from Hua Sai Vocational College. The group visited Walailak University to study its information technology systems, receiving an informative briefing at the Khao Luang Meeting Room, Cooperative Education Building.

During their exploration of Walailak University’s information technology systems, Ms. Supaporn Thongchan, a Computer System Analyst from the Application Solution Division, Digital Technology Center, provided insights into the various information systems and software supporting the university’s operations. These included the E-Meeting system, an electronic conferencing platform developed by the university, and the E-Car system, an online vehicle booking service for staff and students. Mr. Manit Jitprapai, also a Computer System Analyst from the Application Solution Division, Digital Technology Center, shared details about the development of mobile applications such as the Thasala App, which supports time-in and time-out logging, and WU Health Care. The WU Health Care app allows users to book appointments and receive treatment information directly through the app, significantly supporting the operations of the Walailak University Medical Center Hospital.

On the same occasion, the students also gained knowledge about the university’s digital office system. Ms. Prapai Karnchanachai, Acting Head of the Digital and Postal Management Unit, Administrative and Correspondence Division, met with the group and provided information on the Digital Office Management System (DOMS). This system enables the sending, receiving, and signing of documents digitally, replacing traditional pen-and-paper methods. This initiative is a crucial part of the university’s Paperless Office policy, aiming for enhanced efficiency, transparency, speed, cost reduction, and increased convenience in daily operations.

Beyond the technological insights, the visiting group also toured the beautiful Walailak University campus. They even had the opportunity to check in and admire the golden Manorah statue at Walailak Garden, providing the students with a broader perspective and exposing them to the campus of a leading global university.
