Walailak University Holds Royal Birthday Blessing Ceremony for Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana

On July 4, 2025, Walailak University, led by Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, presided over a royal birthday blessing ceremony and alms-giving to Buddhist monks. This auspicious event was held to commemorate the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak Akararachakumari Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Vorakhattiyarajanari on July 4, 2025. The ceremony aimed to express loyalty and profound gratitude for Her Royal Highness’s tireless dedication to the well-being of the Thai people and the nation.

The event saw the participation of numerous distinguished guests, including Ms. Wajiraporn Amatyakul, Deputy Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province; Colonel Suwat Thongbai, Deputy Chief of Staff, Fourth Army Area; Mr. Nipon Kongphet, Chief Justice of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Court; and Police Colonel Thawatchai Sangkhumitkol, Superintendent of Thasala Police Station. Also in attendance were student leaders, representatives from various government agencies, private sector organizations, and local residents from the university’s surrounding communities. The ceremony took place at the Grand Auditorium, Thai Buri Building, Walailak University, Thasala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

During the ceremony, attendees watched a video presentation highlighting Her Royal Highness’s extensive royal duties and initiatives, all dedicated to the benefit and happiness of the public and the nation. This was followed by a traditional royal blessing dance performed by Walailak University students. Representatives from various university departments, student leaders, representatives from the Walailak Pattana Demonstration Community, and external organizations then jointly presented floral tributes before Her Royal Highness’s royal image, in sequential order.

Following this, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, as the ceremony’s president, offered a floral tray and opened a cone of flowers. He then read the birthday blessing address before the royal image of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Walailak Akararachakumari Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Vorakhattiyarajanari. All participants then collectively signed a royal well-wishing book, praying for Her Royal Highness’s excellent health, happiness, and continued presence as an inspiration for the Thai people.

To further honor Her Royal Highness and demonstrate loyalty on this special occasion, Walailak University staff, students, and the general public also participated in a blood donation drive and a volunteer activity to clean the university grounds. Additionally, the public is invited to sign the online royal well-wishing book via the Walailak University website at www.wu.ac.th. An exhibition honoring Her Royal Highness is also open for viewing at the central hall on the 1st floor of the Thai Buri Building and the 2nd floor of the Professor Dr. Wichit Srisa-an Building, from July 5-15, 2025.
