Walailak University Participates in the 2026 Oath of Allegiance Ceremony to the Sacred Colors on Royal Thai Armed Forces Day

On January 18, 2026, staff from the Student Promotion and Development Center and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) students of Walailak University attended the 2026 Oath of Allegiance ceremony to the Sacred Colors. The “Sacred Colors” (Thong Chai Chaloem Phon) are considered the highest sacred objects for soldiers, representing the military unit’s flag graciously bestowed by His Majesty the King. The ceremony was organized by the 41st Military District at the 4th Army Area Airfield, Fort Vajiravudh, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.

The Oath of Allegiance ceremony is a sacred ritual for the Thai military, held annually on January 18 to coincide with Royal Thai Armed Forces Day. It serves as a demonstration of loyalty to the Nation, Religion, and Monarchy. Every soldier vows to protect the country even at the cost of their life, uphold the nation’s core institutions, and strictly follow the orders of their superiors. This ceremony is regarded as the highest honor and a formal confirmation of full military status.
