Walailak Agricultural Expo 2026 Launches with “AgriNext” Theme, Showcasing Innovations to Transform the Future of Thai Farming

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT – Walailak University, in collaboration with public and private sectors, officially inaugurated the “Walailak Agricultural Expo 2026.” Held from March 14–23, 2026, the event centers on the theme “AgriNext: Advancing Agriculture through Innovation,” aiming to transfer cutting-edge technology and research to the community to reduce costs, add value, and drive the sustainable growth of Southern Thailand’s grassroots economy on a global scale.

The grand opening took place on March 14, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Next Gen Building’s multi-purpose plaza. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Ekachai Sunthorn, Vice Governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, delivered the welcoming remarks, while Associate Professor Dr. Mullika Jaroensutasinee, Vice President for Science and Technology, presented the event report. The ceremony was attended by Associate Professor Dr. Worawan Panpipat, Dean of the School of Agricultural Technology and Food Industry, along with university executives, faculty, students, and a large number of distinguished guests and local farmers.

Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrong thanyawong stated that Walailak University is committed to generating knowledge that keeps pace with the changing world. The “AgriNext” concept reflects a dedication to driving “Future Agriculture” by integrating science and technology with local wisdom, focusing on Precision Agriculture, Smart Farming, and Sustainable Agriculture to increase productivity and ensure stable income for farmers.

Mr. Ekachai Sunthorn added that in an era of high production costs and climate volatility, “Innovation” is not just an option but the key to efficiency. This expo serves as a vital platform connecting university expertise to real-world applications, strengthening the economy of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

To ensure a seamless experience, the Division of  Correspondence  and General Affairs  played a pivotal role in providing premium hospitality. They curated a selection of refreshments that blended local identity with modern presentation, ensuring professional service and hygiene for all distinguished guests and executives throughout the event.
