Meeting to Resolve Postal Document Delivery Issues
Today (December 2, 2025), Mrs. Sophida Phatthong, Head of the Administration and Correspondence Division, and Ms. Praphai Karnchanaichai, Head of the Digital Office and Postal
1. Mail and Parcel Delivery to Departments Thailand Post is responsible for delivering all types of personal mail and parcels to personnel at their designated addresses (either the recipient’s affiliated department or the address specified on the package). Items will be delivered to designated department representatives or General Administration and Clerical offices, effective from December 2, 2025 onwards.
Incomplete Department Information: If a package is addressed to an individual without specifying their department, Thailand Post staff will be unable to complete the delivery to the department.
Transition Period: During the initial transition to this new system, the General Administration Division will assist Thailand Post by verifying personnel information from the university database.
Post-Transition (After January 31, 2026): Personnel must ensure that senders clearly specify the internal department name to guarantee accurate delivery. If the department name is still missing after this date, the items will be held for pickup at the Thailand Post WU Branch (Thaiburi Building) for 7 days according to postal regulations. This guideline also applies to third parties using the university address.
2. Delivery to On-Campus Residences (Walai Niwas, Staff Housing, and Student Dormitories) For items addressed to individuals residing in Walai Niwas, staff housing, or student dormitories, recipients must collect their items in person at the Thailand Post WU Branch, Thaiburi Building. Items will be held for collection for 7 days per Thailand Post regulations.
To ensure convenience, prevent long-term issues, and streamline operations for all parties, the General Administration Division kindly requests all departments to:
Notify Personnel: Inform all staff within your department regarding the aforementioned delivery guidelines.
Specify Department/Building: Always include the “Department Name/Building” in the recipient’s address for items sent via Thailand Post. This ensures accurate and prompt delivery while reducing delays or the risk of items being returned to the sender.
Official Communication: The General Administration Division will use the DOMS system as the primary channel for official notices, in accordance with Walailak University Regulations on Correspondence (No. 2) B.E. 2565, Clause 51.
