On 18 April 2024, Walailak University organized Songkran Festival at Architecture and Design Building, Walailak University with the objective to celebrate the traditional Thai New Year. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Suwit Wuthisuthimethavee, Vice President of Walailak University presided over the ceremony. As more than 500 participants and 70 elderly individuals from the university’s vicinity participated in this year’s event. Main activities at the Festival were bathing of the Buddha image to receive blessing, paying respect to Thai elders by pouring scented water onto their hands, performing traditional Thai dancing and lunch gathering.
This event could help strengthening the bond and connection among the university and the local community and celebrating tradition while fostering unity and respect.
