The President of Walailak University has announced the No Gift Policy for the 2025 fiscal year, underscoring the commitment to combating all forms of corruption.

On December 25, 2024, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, led the university’s executives and staff in announcing the intention of the policy “No Acceptance of Gifts and Presents of All Kinds in the Performance of Duties (No Gift Policy)” in all festivals and on all occasions for the 2025 fiscal year at the Cho Pradu Meeting Room, 4th Floor, Chulabhorn Vechavattan Building, Walailak University Medical Center Hospital, and via Zoom Meeting. Furthermore, on December 26, 2024, the President reiterated the No Gift Policy at the meeting to clarify the policy for preparing the expenditure budget plan for the 2026 fiscal year at the Phattharathammaphorn Meeting Room, 9th Floor, Building C, Medical Center Hospital.

The President of Walailak University emphasizes managing the organization with transparency, aiming to build public trust and confidence that Walailak University is a good governance organization. This policy also promotes responsible, honest, and ethical conduct in performing duties and management, with a strong sense of accountability. By adhering to the principles of good governance and fostering a culture of ethical behavior, the President stresses that all executives and personnel under the university’s authority must not accept any gifts or rewards related to their duties, whether before or after performing them. This measure aims to prevent corruption and misconduct, both present and future.

Furthermore, the President reiterates the commitment to combating all forms of corruption, promoting a culture of integrity, and striving to build a strong and sustainable organization of virtue, aligning with the university’s vision: “To be a good governance organization, a learning resource, a pillar in the region, and excellent internationally.” Consequently, an official announcement regarding the “No Gift Policy,” which prohibits the acceptance of all forms of gifts and presents related to official duties, has been issued for the 2025 fiscal year. This policy is to be acknowledged and strictly observed by all university executives and personnel.
