Walailak University, in collaboration with the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization, Walailak Demonstration Community Hospital, Ban Harn Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, and Ban Thung Chon Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, signed a memorandum of understanding on health services to improve the quality of life of people in the areas of Thai Buri Subdistrict and Hua Taphan Subdistrict.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, Mrs. Kanokporn Dechadecho, President of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization, and the directors of Walailak Demonstration Community Hospital, Ban Harn Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital, and Ban Thung Chon Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital jointly signed a memorandum of understanding on health services between Walailak University and the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization to improve the quality of life of people in the said areas. Associate Professor Dr. Suwit Wutthisutthimethawi, Acting Director of Walailak University Medical Center Hospital, and Mrs. Dusdee Chanphum, Secretary of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization, signed as witnesses, while executives, village health volunteers, and local residents witnessed the signing at the Hua Taphan meeting room. The purpose of the signing is to create cooperation and support people to access the health service system conveniently, receive quality services, and be the first prototype of the primary health care network (CUP Model) in Thailand, which is managed under the cooperation of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization, Walailak University Hospital, and sub-district health promotion hospitals transferred to the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization, aiming for the success of a distinctive identity of academic services for the benefit of the people in a strong and sustainable manner.
Under this agreement, people who use the universal health insurance rights in the area surrounding Walailak University, both Thai Buri Sub-district and Hua Taphan Sub-district, more than 10,000 people, will have access to convenient services and receive medical treatment from hospitals near their homes.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong said that the agreement to become a CUP (Cup) of Walailak University this time will provide the greatest benefit to the people in terms of effective health services. The agencies have collaborated to manage the health service network. and provide quality health services to the public that will impress everyone.
“Walailak University Hospital is a modern medical center, the second largest in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. It was established in accordance with the government’s policy to be a clinical medical school and provide services to the public at the tertiary level. From the first year of service, it was found that 130,000 people came to use the services,” said Professor Dr. Sombat.
Mrs. Kanokporn Dechadecho, President of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization, said that this project is a good project that allows the public in the service area to receive the maximum health benefits. The Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Administrative Organization is ready to drive the policy to be in line with the Ministry of Public Health and is ready to drive the work and improve the work of the VHV to be more efficient, have better income and quality of life.
